Argentina vs South Africa (2-2)

Argentina and South Africa played out a thrilling 2-2 draw on Friday, keeping both teams in theoretical contention but also somewhat dimming their hopes of advancing to the last 16. South Africa found themselves 2 goals to the good after Linda Motlhalo and Thembi Kgatlana scored goals in the 30th and 66th minutes, respectively. However, Argentina mounted a remarkable comeback, with Sophia Braun's spectacular long-range strike in the 74th minute halving the deficit, and Romina Nunez's header five minutes later leveling the scores. Despite their entertaining performance, both teams secured only a single point and face slim chances of progressing from a group that includes formidable European teams Sweden and Italy. Argentina will now take on Sweden, while South Africa faces Italy in their pursuit of a historic Round of 16 berth.

England vs Denmark (1-0)

In her first Women's World Cup start, Lauren James showcased her brilliance by scoring a stunning wonder strike which led England to a crucial 1-0 victory over Denmark in Group D on Friday. The European champions are now on the verge of securing a spot in the knockout stage. England coach Sarina Wiegman made bold changes to the squad, with Rachel Daly moving to defense and young starlet Lauren James getting her first world cup start. The move payed dividends quickly as James scored in the sixth minute with a rocket from 22 yards out. However, England faced a setback when Keira Walsh suffered a serious-looking knee injury towards the end of the first half. Despite missing key players, England fought hard to secure the win. The Lionesses will face China in their final group game, while Denmark takes on Haiti.

China 🟥 vs Haiti (1-0)

Despite playing with 10 players for over an hour, China secured their first victory at the 2023 Women's World Cup by defeating Haiti in Group D. Midfielder Zhang Rui's dangerous challenge led to her being sent off in the 29th minute. However, Wang Shuang's 74th-minute penalty sealed the win for China after Ruthny Mathurin fouled Zhang Linyan in the box. China's hopes of qualifying for the last 16 are not out of reach, but they have the current European Champions standing in their way. China and Denmark both have three points, while Haiti, despite a valiant effort, have zero points in their debut World Cup appearance.
