Manchester City keep rolling with a win over Villa while Arsenal make a statement against London rivals Chelsea and Manchester United do the same against Tottenham. Meanwhile, Liverpool only manage to get one point and so do Leicester, who squandered a two goal lead.

Manchester City vs Aston Villa (2-1)

Manchester City secured a 2-1 victory against Aston Villa in the Women's Super League, marking their third consecutive win and propelling them to second place in the table. Aston Villa initially took the lead through Danielle Turner's cleverly executed goal, but Lauren Hemp's two quick goals in the second half reversed the scoreline in City's favor. Despite Villa's resilience and some close attempts, City's relentless efforts, highlighted by Hemp's brace, sealed the win. The match showcased City's determination to claim a hard-fought triumph, ending their home games for the year on a high note.

Arsenal vs Chelsea (4-1)

In a thrilling match witnessed by a record Women's Super League crowd of 59,042, Alessia Russo's two goals propelled Arsenal to a stunning 4-1 victory over reigning champions Chelsea. Russo, following her move from Manchester United, showcased her prowess, contributing significantly to Arsenal's emphatic win. The match marked Chelsea's first league defeat since March and hinted at a potential shift in power in the league. Despite a slow start to the season, Arsenal's seventh consecutive win highlighted their dominance as they capitalized on defensive lapses to secure a crucial victory. Russo's sublime finishes, combined with Amanda Ilestedt and Beth Mead's goals, showcased Arsenal's strength, leaving Chelsea struggling to respond. The match was a testament to Arsenal's superb performance and marked a turning point in the WSL title race, no longer making Chelsea's fifth consecutive title seem assured.

Brighton vs Leicester (2-2)

Leicester manager Willie Kirk expressed concern as his team squandered a two-goal lead against Brighton & Hove Albion, settling for a draw. Lena Petermann and Jutta Rantala secured the lead for Leicester, but Elisabeth Terland's late brace salvaged a point for Brighton. Kirk admitted a sense of fear within his team, affecting their performance in different situations, and highlighted efforts, including psychological support, to address this issue. Meanwhile, Terland's impactful goals propelled Brighton, earning praise from their manager Melissa Phillips for her outstanding form and crucial contributions, despite Brighton's need to improve on possession and other areas highlighted in the match.

Liverpool vs Bristol City (1-1)

Liverpool FC Women, led by Matt Beard, settled for a frustrating 1-1 draw against Bristol City Women, with Sophie Roman Haug's header ensuring a share of points after Amalie Thestrup's earlier goal for Bristol. Beard expressed disappointment, citing Liverpool's sluggish performance and admitting luck in securing even a point. He regretted not altering tactics earlier, mentioning the need for quicker ball movement and acknowledging Bristol's deserving performance. Beard highlighted midfield struggles due to excessive touches and missed opportunities, emphasizing the need to learn from these setbacks. Despite second-half changes and attempts to inject width with Melissa Lawley, Liverpool's inability to create ample chances and their hesitation in crucial moments contributed to the draw. Beard emphasized the impact of extra touches, lack of box presence, and communication issues that hindered Liverpool's usual fluidity and movement.

Everton vs West Ham (1-0)

Everton Women clinched a 1-0 win over West Ham United, courtesy of Karen Holmgaard's second-half header, securing their second consecutive league victory. Despite a fiercely contested match with chances for both sides, Holmgaard's goal from her sister Sara's delivery proved decisive. Everton's strong set-piece threat finally paid off, propelling them to seventh in the table. The Toffees' resilient defense thwarted West Ham's attempts, ensuring their third win of the season and setting the stage for upcoming clashes against Liverpool in the Women's League Cup and Manchester City in the WSL.

Manchester United vs Tottenham (4-0)

Manchester United clinched a comfortable victory against Tottenham Hotspur in the Women's Super League, maintaining their title race pace. Melvine Malard's brace and an assist for Ella Toone, along with a late goal from Hayley Ladd, secured a 4-0 win. United's fine form keeps them within four points of league leaders Chelsea and a point away from the Champions League spots. Despite Spurs' resilience in the first half, United's efficiency in converting chances marked the difference, with Spurs facing defensive and offensive challenges. While Bethany England returned for Spurs after an injury layoff, her efforts couldn't halt United's dominance. Despite the return, Spurs' defensive struggles persist, conceding 11 goals in their last two matches. United's away form remains strong, with 13 points earned away, fueling their ambition for a maiden WSL trophy.

Katie McCabe

Katie McCabe is a prominent Irish footballer, captaining the Republic of Ireland's national team while playing as a left-back for Arsenal in the English Women's Super League. Beginning her career with Raheny United, she secured league titles and FAI Women's Cups before joining Arsenal in 2015. She experienced a brief loan spell at Glasgow City and later excelled with Arsenal, contributing significantly to their FA WSL title win in 2018–19. With a knack for goals and assists, she consistently showcases her prowess, earning recognition in the PFA Team of the Year.

Her international journey is equally impressive. Debuting for Ireland in 2015, she swiftly became the youngest captain in the team's history at just 21 years old. McCabe has played a crucial role in Ireland's progress, notably helping the team qualify for the 2023 FIFA World Cup. Her achievements include scoring Ireland's first-ever goal at the Women's World Cup, despite the team's eventual elimination, leaving her hopeful for future successes.
